The human brain as we understand it now takes approximately 25 years to fully develop. That development timeline is assuming that there is a secure attachment to safe and nurturing caregivers and a safe and encouraging environment through which to explore and grow. But what happens to the brain when trauma is introduced into the mix? How is it impacted or delayed, and how do we begin to connect with and approach those with a history of significant trauma? This two-hour training is designed to expose attendees to the basics of brain function, attachment theory, and connecting with kids and teens who have experienced notable trauma.
