The decision to step into the role of caregiver with kids from hard places is not one to be taken lightly. In the journey of foster care and adoption, there are many pieces of the puzzle at play: understanding the trauma my child has endured, how this child’s trauma has affected them and their development, and understanding how my own life experiences shape the way I interact with others. There were over 9,600 children removed by CPS in Texas in 2022, and we can safely assume that there are never enough loving and caring homes for kids in the system. The need to create awareness, recruit and train loving families to provide safe homes for children from hard places is as great as ever. If you would like to learn more about the need for foster care and adoption, please let us know how we can partner with you to create intentional awareness and training opportunities to serve our communities and the children in need of love and care.
