We often hear of the disheartening statistic that approximately 50% of marriages end in divorce. While we would like to believe that this information does not apply to us as Christians, the truth of the matter is that there are only slight statistical variations for believers. The problem is that our world has consistently and persistently misunderstood and misrepresented what marriage is actually designed to be: a miraculous representation of the love of Jesus Christ toward his people. The reality of marriage is that the most common culprit we face is our own pride. How we love one another in a biblical manner, and a greater understanding of God’s design for marriage can allow us to view marriage in the context it was designed to be in the first place: an act of worship to a Holy God.
